INTEGRA Biosciences Corporation is an industry leader in innovative liquid handling products for the medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical, biotech, and food industries. The Tooling Outsource Supervisor manages a mold service tool room/mold makers and understands plastic injection molding tooling, tool design, tool cleaning & maintenance, tool room equipment capabilities, and the interaction between the tooling support function and production. The role interacts with all functional levels within the facility while performing the following responsibilities: scheduling tool cleaning, repairs, modifications, new tool quotes from vendors, new tool builds from outside vendors, and tool inspections to meet the production and development schedules. 

Responsibilities

• Manage Tool Room personnel to ensure projects and objectives are accomplished in accordance with specified time frames to meet company and departmental goals
• Provide Tool-design assistance for successful molding
• Provide support to R/D on tooling requirements for existing and new projects
• Support production to manage on-time availability of tools to ensure continuous production and increase OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
• Provide quotations for new tooling, modifications, and repair
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, molding team, automation team, and quality for continuous improvements
• Develop workmanship standards that are clearly understood and attainable
• Documents service, repairs, and changes using our systems
• Participates in internal improvement teams, implements preventative and corrective actions, creates and monitors adherence to standard work, and constantly works to move the department forward to support department and company goals with training and technology
• Routine daily maintenance of the work area to ensure that it is neat, clean, and organized
• Ensure the tool room is a safe environment in line with health, safety, and environmental requirements
• Maintain levels of spare tooling for all production molds
• Develops and drives innovation that improves cost, quality, and capability
• Participate in the detailed review of all tooling designs with vendors
• Manage projects to Refurbish / Repair tooling
• Develop a relationship with outside vendors for mold building and molding
• Work with outside vendors for quoting, design, on-time mold delivery, and parts molding with updated reporting
• Maintain mold and component history/condition/changes
• Excellent understanding and experience in injection molds, design, and manufacturing
• Prepare the department's annual CAPEX plan
• Track record overseeing tooling vendors, prototyping, and releasing tooling to manufacturing
• Facilitate and support facility and manufacturing safety, environmental, and ergonomics efforts

Qualifications

• Ten years' experience in mold tooling design and development
• Working knowledge of standard mold-making / toolroom equipment
• Supervisory experience
• SolidWorks & Mold Flow
• Experience in Plastic Injection Mold Design / Construction
• Experience in multi-cavity high-speed injection molding
• Lean Continuous Improvement, Performance metrics
• Project management
• Self-starters must be able to work with little direction and with a high level of self-motivation
• Demonstrated superior communication (written and verbal), teamwork, and organizational skills
• Excellent computer skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SolidWorks, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and recommend creative solutions
• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities on the fly
• Must be willing to travel domestic and international for vendor and equipment sourcing, trade shows and new technology
