INTEGRA Biosciences Corporation is an industry leader in innovative liquid handling products for the medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical, biotech, and food industries. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians in the research, development, implementation, and evaluation of manufacturing processes, methods, tools, and/or equipment. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the manufacturing engineering team in the US and support engineering activities in other locations as needed 
  • Execute project strategies, manage budgets, supervise teams, and ensure projects are complete on time and within budget.
  • Transfer the production of new products from R&D into manufacturing.  
  • Manages the team of engineers to execute capital projects in support of a cGMP manufacturing facility.
  • Continuously monitor manufacturing processes to optimize production flow, improve assembly methods and product quality, and expand capacity. Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.
  • Identify areas of cost reduction and manage the implementation of these types of programs.
  • Manage outside resources providing new processes and equipment.
  • Support existing production with all process equipment, automation, molds, and fixtures.
  • Foster technical growth within the organization and communication between groups.
  • Develop a manufacturing technical roadmap, mentor technical team increasing their capability including developing SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-based)  
  • Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
  • Supports Engineering team with and during problem solving task

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in engineering with 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems and determine root causes.
  • Hands on mechanical engineering aptitude – with emphasis on execution.
  • Knowledge of injection mold design and development
  • Experience with robotic assembly and vision systems focus on implementation to meet ROI.
  • Familiarity with high volume injection molding production in a clean room environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills capable of working among many disciplines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain project plans.
  • Possesses strong communication skills, organization, technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with teams and deliver clear instructions.  
  • Enforce adherence to company, manufacturing, and engineering policies, processes and procedures governing work assignments follow all quality standards.
  • Experience with injection mold design, plastic processing experience.
  • Knowledge in Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
